• From Wednesday 20th of July @ Humphrys Cafe in Highams Park Henry's Avenue IG8 9RB.

 

Come and join local Artist Rachel Hogg for some relaxing Mixed Media fun at the Ray Park Cafe in Ray Park Snakes Lane Woodford.

Each week Rachel will provide a variety of materials for you to experiment with and will lead the class through engaging activities designed to get your creative juices flowing. As well as help you to develop a body of art work that you can be proud of. Learn something new, develop your art skills and make new friends over a cup of coffee.

All abilities welcome.

First 5 Sessions:

 

1. Drawing is Freedom: An Introduction to Experimental Drawing.

2. Taking a Close Look: Exploring Texture, Shading and Mark Making.

3. A Joyful Smudge: Discover Drawing with Charcoal.

4. Inking Up: The Delights of Drawing with Ink.

5. Mixed Media Madness: Mixed Media Backgrounds and Layered Drawings.

 

Each month Rachel will release information about the focus of up coming lessons.

Duration:- Each session is 2 hours long but I will aim to wrap up each session 10 mins early for those who have only paid for 2 hours parking in in the Ray Park visitors car park.

Prices:- Individual sessions cost £14.99. Please book in advance. 

Although most sessions can be bought on their own, there are some session later on in the term which will not be possible to be attend as a one off due to the nature of the session.

Therefore, please contact Rachel in advance if you are hoping to come just as a one off and she will let you know which sessions would be suitable for this.

Things to know before you come.

 

Sessions on Tuesdays and Wednesdays are a repeat of each other at different locations, so you only need to attend one.

Materials:- Rachel will provide a variety of materials for you to use that are included in your ticket such as: charcoal, oil pastels, ink, pencils, paint, glue extra. However, there may be a few materials which Rachel will ask for you to bring depending on the session.

Paper to be bought in the session . . . ​

• A4 printer paper will be provided for free, A3 Mixed media cartridge paper can be bought in the Session at 26p a sheet, A4 mixed media cartridge paper 14p per sheet.

If you have any other specific materials that you would like to use please bring them along.

Getting to Ray Park Cafe

Parking:- There is a pay car park on site which is a short distance from the cafe in the centre of the park and charges £2.20 for 2 hours or £4.80 for the whole day using the Ringgo App. There is also disabled parking immediately outside the cafe.

Alternatively, there are a number of roads opposite the park which have free on street parking.

Public transport:- The Cafe is a 15 min walk from Woodford underground station or Roding Valley underground station.

 

Getting to Humphrys Cafe Highams Park

 

Parking:- There is free on road parking on all the roads near Highams Park.

 

Public Transport: Humphrys Cafe is a 16 min walk from Highams Park Station and there are a number of buses that go there from different local areas e.g 275 from Highams Park or 179 from Chingford.

 

Facilities

Toilets:- There are toilets on site at both Cafes.

Eating and drinking:- You are welcome to eat and drink anything purchased from the cafe in the session, but please don't bring your own food. Thank you.
